Cookie Policy
Last updated
This page lists everything DailyCalc stores in your browser. The calculators themselves need no cookies at all — they run entirely in memory — so everything below is either a preference you set or an optional cookie you can refuse.
Change your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Your choice takes effect immediately and applies to every page from then on.
Strictly necessary
These are set by this site, contain no identifier, and are never sent to a server. They use local storage rather than cookies, which means they are not transmitted with any request.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| dc.theme | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. | Until you clear site data |
| dc.currency | Remembers the currency used in financial results. | Until you clear site data |
| dc.consent | Records your answer to the cookie banner so you are not asked again. | Until you clear site data |
Analytics — optional
Set by Google Analytics only if you consent. They measure traffic patterns; they never receive values you type into a calculator.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Keeps session state for the Analytics property. | 2 years |
If you refuse, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode: it receives an anonymous signal that a page was viewed, with no way to link it to any other visit.
Advertising — optional
Set by Google and its advertising partners, only if you consent, and only once advertising is enabled on the site.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| __gads / __gpi | Measures ad interactions and limits how often the same ad is shown. | Up to 13 months |
| IDE / test_cookie | Set by Google's ad network to measure and personalise advertising. | Up to 13 months |
Refusing does not remove advertising. It means ads are chosen from the content of the page you are reading rather than from your browsing history. You can further limit personalisation at Google Ads Settings.
Third parties we do not use
There are no social media pixels, no session recording, no heatmaps, no A/B testing tools, no chat widgets, and no advertising networks other than Google. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page contacts no third party until you have consented.
Blocking cookies yourself
Every major browser can block or delete cookies from its settings, and browser extensions can block trackers outright. The calculators work identically either way — nothing on this site depends on a cookie to function.
